Pharmacist and Pharmacy Tech Program

Pharmacist 2 Year Program  

Harvest Christian University is excited to introduce its new 2-year pharmacy program that prepares students for a career in pharmacy. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become professional pharmacists. Here is an outline of the program:

Courses:

  • The program includes courses in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacy law and ethics, and clinical pharmacy.

  • Students will learn to use state-of-the-art equipment for pharmacy, including computerized drug interaction screening, automated dispensing systems, and electronic health records.

  • The program will provide students with hands-on experience through clinical rotations and internships.

 

Pre-requisite Studies:

  • Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent to apply for the program.

  • Students must have completed at least 30 semester hours of college-level coursework, including courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and physics.

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Students must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

  • Students must submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if English is not their first language.

 

Program Requirements:

  • The program will require a total of 60 credits.

  • The credits will be earned through a combination of coursework and clinical experience.

  • The program will prepare students for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX).

The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become successful pharmacy technicians. Here is an outline of the program:

Guidelines:

  • The program is open to students who have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Students are expected to spend a minimum of 10 hours of study per week.

  • The program is designed to be completed in 3 months.

 

Course Studies:

  • The program includes courses in pharmaceutical technology, record keeping, pharmacy law and ethics, and pharmacology.

  • Students will learn to use state-of-the-art equipment for pharmacy, including computerized drug interaction screening, automated dispensing systems, and electronic health records.

  • The program will provide students with hands-on experience through clinical rotations and internships.
