Corporate Diversity Council Statement for Harvest Christian University

 

At Harvest Christian University, we are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion that values and celebrates the unique backgrounds and experiences of all individuals. As a community of learners, we recognize that diversity is essential to our mission of providing a quality education that prepares our graduates for success in a global society. We believe that a diverse community enriches our learning environment, promotes creativity and innovation, and enhances our ability to serve the needs of our students and the broader community.

 

To achieve our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we have established a Corporate Diversity Council, chaired by Dr. Dante Simpson, to guide our efforts and ensure that we are creating an environment that is welcoming and inclusive for all. The Corporate Diversity Council is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the university, including:

• Recruitment and retention of a diverse student body, faculty, and staff

• Development of policies and practices that promote equity and inclusion

• Provision of training and professional development opportunities that promote cultural competence and awareness

• Creation of programs and events that celebrate diversity and promote cross-cultural understanding

Establishment of partnerships with community organizations that promote diversity and inclusion. We recognize that achieving our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion requires ongoing effort and dedication. We are committed to listening to the voices of our community members and responding to their needs and concerns. We believe that by working together, we can create a community that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of all individuals.
